Can you install new gates as part of my fencing project?

Yes, we can supply and install gates as part of almost any fencing project. In fact, adding or upgrading gates at the same time as your new fence is often the most efficient way to create a complete, secure boundary around your property. We fit a wide range of gate styles, including garden side gates, pedestrian access gates and driveway gates.

For garden and side access, we typically install timber gates that match or complement the fencing style. This helps everything look consistent and makes the boundary feel more considered. These gates can be purely functional or more decorative, with options such as curved tops, tongue and groove boarding and different frame styles. We fit strong hinges, latches and locks so that the gate is secure and operates smoothly.

If you are interested in driveway gates, we can discuss designs that work with your fencing and with the frontage of your home. Options include timber, composite or metal framed designs, depending on the style of your property and the level of privacy you want. While some driveway gate installations remain manual, we can also design gate structures to be suitable for future automation if you decide you would like this later on.

Integrating gates into a new fence requires careful planning. We need to ensure there is enough room for the gate to open fully without catching on slopes, walls or steps, and we always use suitably sized posts to carry the extra weight of the gate leaf. For side and rear access gates, we often recommend good quality locks or bolts to improve security, particularly on properties that back onto open land, alleys or public footpaths.

When we visit your property in York, simply tell us where you would like gates and how you plan to use them. We will make practical suggestions, provide options and include the gate work within your overall quotation so you have a clear picture of the full project.
